A Chinese search engine Baidu is planning to begin manufacturing driverless vehicles in 2018. To implement these plans, the company signed a mapping agreement with the Shouqi taxi company. Shouqi will supply Baidu with highly accurate city maps, this way being able to create more accurate navigation for partially self-driving vehicles. This cooperation will turn out equally beneficial for Baidu and Shouqi. Just to remind you, Baidu is going to manufacture fully autonomous cars, together with the BAIC Group, in 2021.
Baidu's shares rose 1.5% during yesterday's session and will continue to grow based on the news. Trading will be available during the American session, from 14:40 to 21:00 GMT.
