General Electric dismisses employees

The American company General Electric is planning to drastically reduce the staff. The plan is to dismiss about 12,000 workers, and this is 18% of the stuff, within the framework of the company's measures for reducing costs. According to the company's representatives, the reduction will affect those employees who work outside the United States. Such a large number of cuts will negatively affect the shares of the company. Also, the company is planning to reduce investment and prune away costs on scientific research.

Since the beginning of December, General Electric stocks have fallen by 1.1% and will continue to decline further on the news. Trade will be available during the American session, from 14:40 to 21:00 GMT.
