France's competition authority fined Johnson & Johnson with 25 million euros. The reason for the penalty is an overdosage of high-potent narcotic substances in an anesthetic patch. The patch contains an opioid fentanyl, the excessive use of which can result in overdose and death. The usage of this patch is allowed by prescription only in order to reduce pain in patients suffering from cancer. Johnson & Johnson, in turn, refused to make any comments.
Over the last week, Johnson & Johnson stocks have risen by 1.5% and will continue to grow on the news. Trade will be available during the American session, from 14:40 to 21:00 GMT.
