Nike to release sneakers with a chip

By the end of the month, Nike, the American manufacturer of sports shoes, will release sneakers with a built-in NFC-chip. This chip will have a connection with a special application on the smartphone, and when the phone is near the chip, the program will show the owner of the shoes a calendar and invitations to Nike events in New York. The NFC chip will be installed on one of the latest AF1 NikeConnect QS NYC models, but the price of “smart” sneakers is not revealed yet.

Since the beginning of the month, Nike shares have increased by 5.1% and will continue to grow based on the news. Trading will be available during the American trading session, from 13:40 to 20:00 GMT.
