British retail giant Tesco has become a potential figure in the story with the largest lawsuit in the country's history, connected to unequal wages. More than 1000 women appealed to the arbitration court against the retailer, they strongly believe that the company underpays their workers in "women's" positions. If the case goes further, in the final analysis, this can threaten Tesco with a payment of more than $5.5 million. If the retailer loses the case, the victims can expect an annual payment of several thousand pounds for a period of six years before the claim was filed.
Since early February, Tesco (Tesco PLC) shares have fallen by 3.2% and will continue their decline based on the news. Trading will be available during the European session, from 08:15 to 16:30 GMT.
